Weatherbat

Highly detailed re-design of my primary character! This one touts a tetradic color combination of blue/violet and orange/yellow, with varying levels of value throughout. The greatest inspiration for this design of my character is my passion for meteorology and all things weather, particularly rainbows, clouds, and sunshine. The character has three sets of bat wings, which frame their humanoid body nicely. The long, prehensile plug tail is a design element that has persisted with my main character for years, and so of course it has to stay. The tongs of the plug have been made an exceptionally shiny gold, which is repeated in the gold chain and the shiny, jellybean-like paw pads. The outfit resembles something I would most certainly wear in real life, and I find it is most reminiscent of Ms Frizzle from The Magic School Bus. She was always so fashionable! There's something about the aesthetic of science, learning, meteorology, astronomy, and a joyful, ever-expanding appetite for knowledge that I recall from so many educational cartoons from my childhood that I am attempting to harness within my art and my character designs.
